The Einstein@Home project (http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/) at the UWM Physics Department (http://www.lsc-group.phys.uwm.edu) is seeking an energetic, dynamic and motivated Information Processing Consultant (Computer System Administratior) for UNIX/Linux systems. A central part of this position will be to maintain the main Einstein@Home servers, set up auxiliary data servers for host institutions, prepare and maintain, insuring integrity, of the Project's input data and of the returned results. The system administrator will have a good working knowledge of Linux software and of the UNIX system administration. In addition, the administrator will be able to maintain/repair/upgrade hardware, and will be able to program in C or C++, Python and/or other scripting languages. 2 years of prior work-related experience are also required. Knowledge and first-hand experience in large-scale (Grid) scientific computing are desirable. This position is a full-time, fixed-term academic staff position with an annual (12 month) salary in the range $40,000-$50,000.
