Someone at Seti has had this happen to him as well, also with 6.10.58 and the newer server side code (2,846 PCs). Bernd, I notified David Anderson of this weird effect.
I've had this problem too and traced it too using BAM as an acount manager. It kept creating new computer ID's at one point. I don't know if that also goes for all the problems reported here. Buit I disabled BAM (except on my laptop C2D T8300).
