Turned on computer visibility

Turned on computer visibility (forgot it was off by default).

The M1 Ultra system is only doing Gamma-ray pulsar search #5 v1.14 tasks right now.

The M1 Mini is doing a mix of Gamma-ray pulsar search #5 arm64 and Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo) via Rosetta 2.

Is it me or is Monterey

Is it me or is Monterey slower at completing WUs compared to Big Sur...?

I don't have data for Big

I don't have data for Big Sur, but if someone does they can compare against my macOS Monterey data below.

FGRP5 Task CPU Times (mix of v1.12/v1.14 applications):

Device Config OS E-Core Freq @ 100% Load P-Core Freq @ 100% load Task CPU Time Range
Mac mini M1, 16GB RAM macOS 12.3.1 2064MHz 2988MHz 11,262 - 11,823
Mac Studio M1 Ultra, 64GB RAM macOS 12.3.1 2064MHz 3036MHz 8,227 - 9,687

I don't think it is you.  I'm

I don't think it is you.  I'm not even sure I can blame Monterey as this seems to have started about 4-2-2022.   The average credit for my I5 Intel iMac has remained about the same.  But the average credit for my M1 mac mini has taken huge nose dive.  Mid 20's to 12,466 this morning.  Both were updated to Monterey the same day.  Below is data for the M1 mac mini.

I've been getting around

I've been getting around 2h45m for LATeah1089 batch of work on Big Sur, but after I've upgraded my M1 MBA to Monterey it slowed to 3h19m per WU...

Then I reverted back to Big Sur and now it's a healthy 2h45m again...

PS: For the record, I've downgraded not because of this issue but I believe Apple screwed up on HEVC implementation on Photos app.

Hmm, so I see the same issue

Hmm, so I see the same issue between my M1 and M1 Ultra running Monterey.

M1 Ultra is taking ~2h48m per test, while the M1 Mini takes 3h28m per task, both are at 100% load working on the same LATeah1089F_808.0 WU.

Side note: The M1 Ultra finally caught up to the M1 mini total credit. M1 Mini has been running nearly non-stop for 39 days with total credit of 973,440; M1 Ultra has been mostly non-stop for 12 days and is at 975,051 total credit.

If the M1 Ultra can run Big

If the M1 Ultra can run Big Sur I'm sure can bring it down to less than 2.5hrs/WU... Too bad it's only Monterey going forward...

Hm... strange. I also have Monterey. My Macbook Air M1 is running FGRP5 and the mean run time for these tasks is about 2h 20m. I'm using only one core at 70% CPU time. But few weeks ago I noticed that changing settings to 2 or 4 cores but without changing CPU usage made execution of tasks longer.

I think my performance drop started right after the update to 12.3.1

It looks like all the tasks I

It looks like all the tasks I am getting (mostly Binary Radio Pulsar Search) are running thru rosetta. Is anyone getting that type to run natively on M1 or is that not happening yet?
