A really good way to bond with your cat. Cats groom other cats as a method of stress reduction and generation of feel good endorphins. Brushing your cat enhances the relationship as you as alpha cat in the pride.
True, true. Also, when groomed with a flea comb, a daily combing can keep fleas at bay without resorting to insecticides. We also found out that a wetted, soft-bristle, toothbrush is our cat's favorite for head, face, and ear grooming. For us, this all started when after surgery, our female had to wear The Cone, and couldn't groom herself. We gave her a thorough brush and comb once or twice a day and referred to it as her "spa time". She came to love it and now that The Cone is long gone, she pretty much demands spa time daily.
