Now time for another run of this increasingly frustrating pastime.

Simple rules:
= Post in this thread, anything with legible words (ie one word posts don't count)
= Stay within the message board rules
= Empty posts are invalid towards winning
= You must wait for someone else to post before you can post again, any and all multiple posts are invalid towards winning
= Have FUN

Rules Subject to change at moderators discretion without notice.

The winner will be the last person that posted, when I have time to check the thread, after one of these events:
= A specific date and/or time occurs
= A specific number of posts have been made
= I get tired of ya'll nagging me who is the winner :)
= An event I have chosen occurs (doesn't occur)

Sorry there are no physical prizes, only the satisfaction you played and won.

------------

I'll decide tomorrow whether there will be an incredibly complex and aggravating puzzle to solve, or we will revert to just a simple post count or other event.

For now, just chat amicably.

David

Hi Bill ! All I'm seeing

Hi Bill !

All I'm seeing is 'TrickyDickaphenia', so it'll be about Watergate then. :-)

Annoyance of the Day : I've had to come in and do a few full days work. Darn .... no rest for the wicked ! :-(

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Howdy Mike !
Getting ready for work here (slowly)
Dreaming I was still on my Vacation (way back in Sept)

For some reason I've never had much desire to visit Vietnam.
I guess it is pretty.

The surprising thing I found

The surprising thing I found about Vietnam is that it is communist in title only. Which is a bit of a laugh as DownUnda many people tend to say we are democratic in name only! Every transaction in Vietnam was absolutely capitalistic. Everyone I met wanted to hide income from Hanoi. As we do for Canberra. If you want something you put your hand in your pocket to get out currency notes, which go to their hand and thence into their pocket ie. it never happened. The Dong is officially manipulated rubbish but AUD and/or USD are fine and dandy. The black economy must be several orders of magnitude above the official one. They were lovely people - to rich western tourists at least. So in Hoi An I go to the tailor shops and get fitted for a raft of neat casual and formal gear, it costs me a third of Aussie prices but they still make five times what they usually do. But don't eat the birds, as they just can't separate their chickens and ducks from Salmonella, Shigella etc. Fish & beef are fine. Have imported wine and spirits only.

Cheers, Mike.

*pop feet up on nearest

*pop feet up on nearest surface... and lounge* Hello - me again :)

Shame about work Mike :( and looks like Bill has had to head off there too :(

Never been to Vietnam. Never thought I'd even think about going there either... and now I have :) Thought about it I mean. Thankyou for facilitating that :) Still don't think it would be higher than near the bottom of a list of places I'd like to try out though.

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Aw, c'mon, Phil. It's not that scary in here... at least not yet.

Mike, I assure you it's not about Nixon, whether it be Richard, Cynthia, Agnes, Amy, Christine, Carl, any of five or more Davids, Edwin, Francis Russell, Henry, Jay, Kiden, Marni, either of the Pauls, Samantha, William Penn, or any of the other people listed on the Wikipedia Nixon (surname) page. Nor is it about the places in Ontario, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, or Texas. Or anything else at all to do with the word Nixon. Or Nickson. Or any other way you can think of to spell the same phoneme.

I have, however, decided on a mystery person. And once again, there is a tenuous connection to space.

It's also not my avatar, either Alfred (here) or Sylvester (Seti). Sometimes I forget that it's not Sylvester here. But that's neither here nor there.

So carry on with either the guessing or the general banter. I may pop in occasionally with the odd clue, or a nudge to someone leaning in the right or wrong direction. Actually, I'm resisting very hard the urge to slip a clue into this post, but the one I have in mind is too obvious to give this early.

I took triskaidekaphobia (fear of 13) and changed the ending to -enia, to celebrate this being the 13th LPTP thread here at Einstein (and somewhat influenced by Annie's whateverophrenia jumble). I don't know if it makes any actual sense; I was sort of hoping I was in the spirit of Quadrophenia (whatever that actually means, if anything).
