do i need to specify the maximum transfer/upload rate when setting my preferences? i have a cable modem if that means anything. sorry for the idiotic

I think both up and down rates are for throttling purposes. If you leave them blank, transfers will occur at the maximum rate for your connection. I leave mine blank and that's what seems to happen.

I assume it is the same information that was attempted to be transmitted to me in another thread but the condesending intro (Me thinks you...) and the other users general attitude in combination with a sparce info segment (he said what you said in about five useful words among a dozen deletable words)

your explaining to leave it blank goes against normal "fill in the blank" mentality but is logical if it is allowed
