I switched today from wine to the native linux client. I had einstein run under wine for more then 1 year now for several reasons (one was the performance). I think that the linux version is still much slower then the windows version running with wine. The following benchmarks from the client supports this statement (both results are taken from the same computer):
with wine:
Measured floating point speed: 491 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed: 1166.53 million ops/sec
with native linux client:
Measured floating point speed: 353.94 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed: 644.89 million ops/sec
Are there options for the client so it will match the wine speed? (because 1 year ago, the linux version calculates with higher precision floating point arithmatic then the windows version, and therefore lacking speed)

There have been a number of improvements made to the MS Windows program executables and now these changes are being re-engineered in to the source code. We are hoping that will mean that all subsequent clients will be improved.
