In apprehension of any attempt by anyone in any ( however subtle ) mode to bring or renew or enhance any prior or current disagreements from anywhere else to here ( phew! ), I give notice of my intention to carefully but correctly enforce our standard:

Quote:

Please be responsible in what you write, and do not create posts which are offensive or insulting. Offensive posts or threads may be deleted by project managers without warning or discussion. Do not respond to offensive postings. Click on the 'report offensive post' button at the bottom of the post to call it to the attention of the project managers.

If you have strong feelings about someone that doesn't fit that criteria, then don't come to these E@H forums to express it. A suggestion for those participants who really can't let go of a disagreement - swap email addresses and continue privately so as to not pollute here.
Any comments about user behaviour which could be seen as impolite if directed at an individual, should be expressed ( if at all ) as a generic/abstract comment.
I really do hope I don't find anyone posting 'close to the edge' either, as it makes me unhappy to have to think harder about it ..... :-)
Now, lets keep the project moving forward!
Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

I'm glad to see you are on duty to prevent this place from going to the dogs (no offense to any dogs...)

Einstein is a haven in these

Einstein is a haven in these troubled times.........
Let's keep it that way!

'will honor your request for

'will honor your request for disgression'
A white mutiny already! :-)

'no offense to any dogs'
Yeah, some of my best friends ..... :-)

'Disclaimer ...... disclaimer'
You work for a software company, right? :-)

No spankings ( well, not yet... ), but a big ch...ch...ch...chuckle to you all. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Oh, and another hint to all and sundry - use the smileys !!!

( edit ) Yet another general reminder. When New Scientist interviewed Akos ( all hail!! ) they also trawled through the forums ( fora? I really must look that up... ) for user comments. Anybody can read what we write, and not just whom-so-ever you think will or hoped did. Lurking is undetectable. I'll repeat a point I've made before - when ( not if in my view ) the LIGO detections occur, the whole world will be crawling all over this site. Let us hope then that no-one dearly wishes a post of theirs had been deleted ...... :-)

Don't think we have any worries on that score, Mike! In fact, this is one of the calmest places to be at the moment......

With you all the way Mike.

With you all the way Mike. Einstein has always been such a safe place to post. We need to keep it that way...and they have excellent science boards too, with proper discussions about real science!!! Heaven!!

Physics is for gurls!

It's from the Latin, so the changing of the vowel changes tense, quantity, etc.

Forum = one fora
Datum = one data
Ran = was run,
Et al, Etc, ;) <= OK, now I'm just being smart :)

I thought doctors studied Latin? No? Now there's an improvement in the curriculum or is that curricula? ;-D ROTHLOL
