The BOINC team has released a windows x64 version. Isn't that just great!

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

The problem though is Einstein@home won't upload tasks processed in my whiz bang BOINC 5.9.10 x64 client.
Complaining with the following error:
"Message from server: platform 'windows_x86_64' not found".

Would the Einstein team mind looking into this, please. It would be really appreciated.

Windows x64 development version of BIONC released.

They need to upgrade their backend software. I'm sure the team is well aware of it as David A has sent at least 2 emails to the BOINC projects list and Bruce has always been active on the lists.

Senoc, I have tried to create a work around for you but I don’t have a “Whiz Bang to test it on. If you fancy trying it out then email me at Souwesterly the usual dsl.pipex.com and I will forward it to you. Dave.

I just installed today, and got this error as well. :( I also can't help with ClimatePrediction.net I guess more of my cycles will have to go to projects like SETI and Rosetta @ home who either have 64 bit projects or are willing to send 32 bit projects to x64 users.

And no, I won't use the 32 bit BOINC so long as at least one project I'm contributing to has 64 bit support. Why take steps backwards?

I agree. That is the main reason I joined Riesel Seive, they were the first production project to work with the new client.

Why not check out the #2 Sticky at the top of this board to get links to the details of the workaround?

Cheers,
Gary.

I'll have to look for the workaround for XP x64 (64bit) Boinc 5.10.13.
