    Our Gravitational Wave search "S6Bucket" is nearing its end. As usual while processing the last tasks of a run, locality scheduling isn't very effective, and the download volume increases. People with a slow (or expensive) internet connection may want to back off from Einstein@Home for a few days.

    The next Gravitational Wave search "S6LV1" is already set up, we expect to ship the first tasks of that search in the next few days.

    In the past days we also started shipping a new version of the Radio Pulsar search application (BRP4). This is in preparation for using a new data file format which should reduce the data (download) volume of a BRP4 task to about a half.

    Participants using 'anonymous platform' (app_info.xml) need to update their application setup.

    Please refer to our Technical News message board for details and updates about these applications.

      Hi all,

      I'm an ordinary BOINC user, and BOINC gave me a notice containing this confusing statement. What does this mean please?

        Thanks for the update!

        I just updated my app_info.xml file to include the new app while leaving the existing app in place temporarily to finish up those tasks that downloaded as version 1.0.

        The data volume reduction is great news. With this change I can look to add some more GPUs.

          Hello - This is only if you put an app_info.xml file in your einstein project directory to support running multiple tasks per GPU. Without this file, BOINC will automatically download the necessary files and configuration for the update.

            Thanks for clarifying that for me Jeroen!

              I'm guessing I just need to change this filename in my app file to something else? How do I change my app file. I'm just doing 2 cuda at once no cpu jobs.

              </file_ref>

                Hallo Mark!
                You don“t need any loger an app_info.xml file. See here and adjacents.
                Kind regards
                Martin
