Hi,
today I've upgraded to nvidia-drivers 302.17 on my dedicated low-power crunching machine, running linux on amd64 platform. Host is configured to only run GPU tasks.
It seems that the CUDA app (BRP4cuda32nv270) is not compatible with this driver release. Tasks run for about 10 seconds with full CPU utilization (but this seems to be normal behavior, does the same on older driver revisions), but after that they just "waiting to run".
I've tried to cancel existing tasks, but newly downloaded WUs have the same problem.
What do you think, is this a known compat issue with new nvidia-drivers release or a local problem? Graphics card is quite new as well...
I'm going to switch back to 295 series driver for now, if you need any support (testing, ...) just tell me, then I switch driver again.

I can't find your Linux 302.17 driver on NVidia's download site, so I can't read any release notes to say what might be new in that release.
But I am aware of a very similar error report (by an experienced CUDA developer) relating to the 304.48 beta Windows driver. Apparently, this Windows driver is the first to include CUDA 5 runtime support, and has been reported to cause similar early failure with cuda30 applications on GTX 6xx series cards:
synopsis: GTX 680 + r304.48 beta driver leads to old Cufft 3.0 enabled apps to fail, worked fine on prior driver.

I have tried 302.17 BETA drivers in Linux and the tasks would restart every few seconds with the application of this project. I have found driver 295.33 to work the best with my cards in Linux currently.

However, you'll get no CUDA tasks from Einstein@home with that driver.

I have been running CUDA tasks with driver 295.33 in Linux for quite some time now. I believe the Windows 295 drivers are the problematic ones that are filtered out by the project. The Linux 295 drivers run stable with this project.
