Out of curiousity, how are you placing users? By our US zip codes? And how are you choosing which users to place? I ask because I only found this page by googling for my username so I'm pretty sure I didn't request to be on here. I'm not too worried as my location on the map is about a mile from my house but I'm just curious as to how I ended up on here!

In your case, it came from the "home port" you entered at Pirates@Home under the project preferences. (Note the little note that says it's used for a Google Earth Placemark file... that's me with the help of scripting added by Wormholio over there.) You can see this thread on the Pirates Message Boards for more info. If you do not wish it to be used (and this goes for everyone who finds themselves there inadvertently) say the word, and I'll take you off.

please correct my placemark to LAT 51°13'18.99"N, Long 4°15'49.00"E which is my front yard. Old placemark is to far West, it puts me in the neighbors "forest"

thanks

I did in fact do that deliberately. I didn't want this to be used for any sort of cyber-stalking or anything. If you're really okay with putting it there, I will, but I do this to all for protection of privacy.

Update time! Click here to download!

A note about this update: Several users lately have been adding a team tag in front of their user names to indicate belonging to a specific team. While this is understandable, it makes trying to organize placemarks somewhat difficult, and in some cases made user names ridiculously long. As a result, starting now and in future, team tags will be left off a user's name when added to the placemark file. If you wish to indicate your allegiance in the file, you can always contact me and give me the URL of a custom team signature or other graphic or text to be included in your placemark's label (the box that pops up when a placemark is selected in Google Earth) and I will be happy to include it in the next update. Cheers!

Changes as of 2 March 2008:
Added user Larry
Repositioned several markers of users of Pirates@Home due to system placement errors.
Removed team tags from users Bichou, ninicool and elektrohase

Could you add me too please?

48°12'14,28'' N
16°19'33,63'' E

(Vienna, Austria)

You are, in fact, already in the file, though, without your team tag. (No offense, BOINC Synergy guys, but those are ANNOYING! ;) Do you want me to make any changes?
