You can read about me at my home page (http://okaye.esmartweb.com) if you want to, but here I'd like to share with you all my hobby and passion - Perl.
I've been a member of the Israeli Perl Mongers (http://www.perl.org.il) for a few years now, and I really love Perl. If you don't know anything about this wonderful programming language, I encourage you to visit perl.org (http://www.perl.org/) and read what this language is about. For me, it is about enabling me to do stuff, it's about community (the real kind, grassroots, not the corporate sponsored "I go to conventions because I can win an iPod" kind), it's about CPAN :-)
So what am I doing here?
Oh, I also like astronomy :-)
Q. "Why do you run Einstein@Home?"
A. Because I believe that science should be something we invest in, and I like the goal.
Q. What are your views about the project?
A. Worthwhile. The project site needs a little updating and a few bugs fixed (e.g. handling of HTML tags in the profile) - perhaps it needs more Perl scripting :-)
Q. Any suggestions?
A. Always *promptly* answer emails from your contributers, if only to say "thanks for the heads up, we're a little swamped right now but we'll get back to you as soon as possible". There's nothing more annoying than wanting to help and not getting *any* response from the other side. Nobody likes getting a cold sholder :-)
