I'm an administrator at Bryant University in Rhode Island. Have long been interested in the Universe and what's out there. Also had a home computer processing SETI jobs (my wife thinks I'm crazy).
Graduate of TAMU 1978 (accounting)...but have always loved science. I meant to get to the geology building to sign up as a geo major in 1968 but got sidetracked to the business building...alas, I was young and foolish.
Am still an avid reader of science fiction and books on cosmology...and I continue to find Einstein's theories of relativity and special relativity absolutely fascinating...and Feynman diagrams are pretty cool, too.
At 7 years old, was completely infatuated with the Russian launch of Sputnik, and our response over the next decade. Would have given my right arm to be an astronaut. One of my favorite books re: cosmology is 'Eight Easy Ways to Colonize the Galaxy' by Marshall Savage.
We need to get into space. We'll eventually figure out a way around Einstein's speed limit without violating the laws of physics. We'll find a trick. We're humans...and we find ways to get stuff done. I'm an optimist.
