I'm a 31 (Jan 2005) year-old programmer, systems engineer, network engineer, Pick developer, phone technician, electronics engineer, plus whatever else is required to put out daily fires. I work for All-Spec Industries, a leading industrial tools, electronics rework/assembly, and telecom/datacom products distributor. I live in Wilmington North Carolina with my wife April.
I think the project is a neat concept that makes good use of the network computing model. I have a desire to make full use of all available CPUs and put together the largest computer farm that I can. I'm not so much of a pack rat, but rather a computing power hungry farmer. Boxen, like protein producing cattle, need to be fed lots of quality fodder regularly to keep them fat and happy. Unfortunately, most boxen fodder available(except for maybe Doom3 running at max resolution) can not fulfill these needs on a continuous basis. Einstein@Home provides a constant data-rich fodder source that can keep boxen happy, full, and constantly busy.
