I'm a 40 something happily married network technician with a district library system in west Michigan, USA. I've been involved with Distributed Computing since about 2001 when I was doing both Seti@Home and the RC5-64 project.
Eventually, I chose to focus my interests on more practical science projects that I thought would benefit more people; I'm not disrespecting any other projects' goals, it's just my take on the value of the projects from my perspective.
In a universe of ever-changing phenomenon, the constant nature of pulsars makes them an excellent point of reference for charting and mapping out the cosmos.
Although I have my doubts about how long it will take for us to leave the Earth and travel amongst the stars, the work being done today will provide us an initial roadmap.
