Profile: Chris Smith

Your personal background.
am a 35 year old IT professional and semi-professional photographer. I am also an Amateur Radio Operator (KC4KJO) and enjoy woodworking, texas hold 'em, software development, riding my Harley with friends, cooking and experimenting with electronics and other scientific things. I have recently started to get into amateur meteorology and astronomy. I do what feels right for the moment and tend to find things that will yeild a sense of accomplishment.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I have been involved in SETI@Home on and off for almost 5 years now. It has been a while since I computed any work units and decided it was time to get back in the game and that is when I found out about Einstein@Home. I find this to be a very interesting project that I can easily help out with. There are so many things that we can learn by looking outside our little planet that it is a shame to waste computing power by letting a workstation sit idle for hours/days/weeks. I figured I would put them to work. I just hope that I can be a small part of a great discovery that increases our knowledge of the cosmos and maybe even advances our extra-planetary travels.
