Profile: Enola Gay

Your personal background.
An astronomer by education, an airline pilot by profession and a computer nerd by accident of nature, I wrote my first code in 1965. When I was in graduate school, debate raged over the nature of Quasars - extragalactic or relatively nearby? Black Holes were unproveable flights of fancy, thought to be undetectable if they did exist. Our cosmological view has changed dramatically since then thanks to technological advances and good science. Einstein@home is a perfect combination of science, technology and mystery for those with an interest in helping to fill in pieces of the cosmic puzzle.
