Your personal background.
My name is Ian T. Durham, and I'm an Assistant Professor of Physics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH and a former engineer. My research focuses on the foundations of physics and dips into such areas as cosmology, quantum mechanics, relativity, etc. I'm also an avid Mac OS X user who was converted back to Macs with OS X's introduction since I was trained mostly on UNIX machines (from my engineering days).

I'll take the opportunity to tout Saint Anselm College, while I'm at it. It's a small, liberal arts college that has a tradition of working its students very hard (semi-locally its nickname is Saint "C's"). Having taught part-time at numerous institutions while I was still an engineer (before being swayed to the dark side), I must say the work ethic of Saint Anselm students is on par with the students I taught at the US Naval Academy.

Our department is small and consists of three full-time faculty members and a full-time lab instructor. We have around 20 students, about half of whom are pre-engineering (we have active 3-2 programs with Notre Dame, Catholic, Manhattan, and UMass-Lowell). We are a growing department with interests in most areas if modern physics and astronomy as well as meteorology and would welcome the opportunity for any collaboration.
