Profile: NicD

Your personal background.
Did maths and french at college, and translated a large piece on general relativity in my final year, which got me interested in gravity waves (thanks to Thibault Damour).

I do a medium amount of sport (cycling, running, swimming), try to be more environmentally friendly than most (currently looking for a roof-mounted 2.5kW windmill to save my impact on global warming and live close enough to work to cycle every day with my recumbent bike) and do Scuba diving.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I run Einstein@Home along with SETI@home. I turned it on once SETI@home went on to Boinc and Einstein@home appeared. It seems a good use of my excess computing power. If I have got a computer here, why doesn't someone get to use it?

It would be great to have a bit more information about the calculations being carried out, though (maybe the information is there but I haven't found it yet).
