Profile: Malius

Your personal background.
I am currently a senior in Computer Science B.S. at the University of California, San Diego. I'm taking a specialization in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. I'm currently working as a research assistant on the Camera Man project for Prof. Yoav Freund. I also work on campus for the ACS Help desk to provide end user support to the campus community for all things computer related.

My background in programming covers projects in:
Java, C/C++, C# and ASP.Net, SPARC Assembly

Outside of school I'm taking in the outdoors and beautiful weather in San Diego. This involves playing golf, running, or surfing.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I think theoretical physics is awesome, and pure research into fundamentals of gravity could blow open new approaches on how man interacts with the universe.

On a computational perspective, I'm very much in favor of contributing idle clock cycles in the name of pure scientific research. Hopefully soon I'll have a greater understanding of grid computing and contribute to the software used for these projects.
