Profile: Arthur L Howard

Your personal background.
I was born January 19, 1941. I like to sail, ski, read good books, hike, and plan adventures.

I live full time on my sailboat, Samana, a Challenger 35 Ketch. I use a cell phone for data links, which is very slow. I work part time at Pepin Area Schools, Pepin, Wisconsin, teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Physical Science. This is my last year teaching so I have more time to work on my lifetime to-do-list. I will be completing a masters program in physics teaching in 2006 and 2007. In the fall of 2007 I plan to take my boat down the Mississippi River from Lake City, Minnesota and cruise in Mexico waters for the winter of 2007/08. In 2008 I plan to cruise the East Coast of the U.S. The lifetime list continues…

Ski season is ending in Minnesota. I am prepping Samana for the trip down river from the Red Wing Marina to Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River. It is time to think of spring and summer sailing. Life is great!
