Your opinions about Einstein@Home
Finding intelligent life in the Universe may be the only way to shake the residents of this planet out of their violent, primitive, selfish coma. Every Citizen with computers that always run has a duty, I believe, to help in the attempt to have mankind from self-annhilation.

This project, and especially Astro-Pulse(sp?) have a better chance of detecting ETI, IMHO. Any spacefaring race would not use EM for communications - but might still use it for measurment, etc. These would be pulses. Kudos to the folks that have realized this, and tweaked the telemetry parsing in this direction!

I suggest a 501C-3 foundation be established by a major research entity that would allow individuals to make the purchase of a powerful machine to be used in the processing of telemetry a tax write-off; so one could use the funds to buy a "big box" instead of funding war and conquest. Of course, a dual or quad 64-bit processor machine quietly running in the corner could also be handy for general household use..... A win-win for all. If I had a situation like this for justification, I could probably get away with building a really nice "beast" without risking spousal reprisals!! "But honey, the money would have had to go for taxes...." Lots of folks are similarly situated, I would bet....
