Your personal background.
I live in the south of England. I am a very mature student of astronomy and related disciplines, by distance learning. My main interest is in astrophysics and cosmology, though my current course does no more than touch these advanced matters. I have travelled the world in my career in the airline industry and plan shortly to live in France - French being my second language and the history, culture and life style of that country forming a principle interest.
I hope some of my computer free time may help to resolve one or more of the problems in the field. Imagine the feeling if my computer was the one via which a major advance was made!!!
I started to put SETI into my system, but I cannot become as excited about ETI as I can about the more fundemental physical aspects of our Universe. Even if we are not alone, the prospects of any meaningful communication with intelligences in some distant star system, galaxy , or parallel universe are so remote as to be not worth pursuing. I am not being parochial, but I think we can and should, better employ our time.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I think I have said it all in my profile, but this is the type of research which I feel is of major importance and it gives me great pleasure to feel that I can contribute even a minute amount to the work.
