| Your personal background. |
I am 35 and from NY,NY. I have a major interest in all things cosmological, astronomical, and quantum mechanics. Science is not a hobby for me, it was, is, and always will be a major passion in my life. As a small child, science fiction is what started me on the road to learning about science fact.
Currently, I am self-tutoring in the sciences mentioned above and attending lectures where and when I can. Eventually, when time and money permit, I will be attending college to earn my Phd. |
| Your opinions about Einstein@Home |
I originally intended to install SETI@Home but when I went to the boinc website, I was intrigued by the Einstein@Home project. Personally, I felt that SETI would actually be a waste of time and energy for my computer because (for arguments sake) if any advanced civilizations do exist, they would be advanced enough to communicate beyond radiowaves. For example, if they travel via wormholes, radiowaves would more than likely be totally useless.
As far as my views about the project, right now all I can say is that I find it quite fascinating that my computer's idle time would be used to search for gravitational signals emitted by pulsars. Also, I find neutron stars very intriguing and quite unique in the universe. Every time I read an article or watch a documentary, I almost always find new information to learn about them. |
