| With all the investment in research and projects to prove that Gravitational Waves exist the least I can do is chip in with a few cpu cycles. Distributed programming is my passion, and Unix and Java/J2EE are what I try to expertise at. Check out my blog : http://jroller.com/page/alexdg |
| Your opinions about Einstein@Home |
1. I run Einstein@Home because I consider it a worth while project, alot of investiment is being made to create systems to detect gravitational waves and prove Einstein's theory correct, distributed computing is the only economically viable way of doing such massive number crunching. I'm glad to of help, its my way of thinking I'm actually doing something for mankind! ;-)
2. With the petabytes of information to be generated in the following years from the projects that are underconstruction, Einstein@home needs more followers.
3. There should be an easier way of running Einstein@home on "offline" servers (alot of test servers, that can't access the internet, just lay around in the datacenter idle, they can be put to work). |
