| Your personal background. |
I was born at the beginning of the Vietnam War, the no-win war as my Dad called it, in a small town in Oklahoma. I was privileged to see the lunar landing of the Eagle. I sat with my family in front of our (state of the art) black and white television and watched Neil Armstrong step down onto the dusty surface of the moon. Being 9 years old, I was captured. I followed the Apollo missions with anticipation as each new landing brought more pictures of the astronauts exploring the moon in that awesome moon buggy. Yeah, I wanted to be an astronaut.
Star Trek kept my imagination captured (reruns by then) of alien worlds and future technology. With the STS, ISS and Mars missions etc., I would think that we are well on our way to exploring the final frontier.
Alas, I never became an astronaut; a truck driver would have to do.
Hobbies:
Astronomy
Guitar picking
Computer tinkering
