Profile: Thunder

Your personal background.
I'm an amateur astronomer with NEKAAL, the NE Kansas Amateur Astronomers' League. I work full-time in IT, but am also a part-time professional meteorologist, so there are certainly several BOINC projects that interest me!
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I run Einstein@Home because I hate to think that most of the time 90% of the power of my computers would be wasted otherwise and as an astronomer, I want to contribute in any way I can to our understanding and study of the cosmos.

There are many aspects of general relativity that I've (slowly) come to understand, but unfortunately gravity waves are not yet among them. As I'm reading more on the E@H boards and studying on my own, I'm starting to grasp the processes involved a bit more with time.
