Profile: Albert Dukes Jr

Your personal background.
I am a retired high school chemistry and physics teacher. I have always liked astronomy but have not always been active. Very soon, I plan a return to observing variable stars (after a considerable absence of doing so) as a member of the American Association of Variable Star Observers, AAVSO. I have built, with much help from my two sons, an observatory for my Celestron 8 inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. My oldest son is in his second year of graduate school in Chemistry, working on ultrafast laser spectroscopy, at Vanderbilt University. My youngest is a senior in Civil Engineering, cocentrating on structures, at Clemson University. My wife, an English major and Elementary School Principal tolerates us well. I am 56 and live in Winnsboro, SC, USA.
