Profile: Eric Myers

Your personal background.
I am a physicist. My original background is in theoretical particle physics, but now I'm working on detecting and studying gravitational waves. I am a member of the team which developed Einstein@Home. One of my accomplisments was principle responsibility for implementing the screensaver graphics. To test out BOINC software and graphics ideas I set up a test project called Pirates@Home, and have set up a team of the same name on Einstein@Home. All are welcome to join the crew!
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
The detection of gravity waves will be a great leap forward in both confirming our understanding of the general theory of relativity and in providing us a new set of eyes (or more like ears) for exploring the universe. This is a really exciting prospect.
