Your personal background.
Hi! I'm Sheryl - pleased to meet you. I'm 40 years old, Gemini, and I live in Atlanta, GA, USA on the lovely Chattahoochee River in the Chattahoochee National Forest with my 4 cats and my 85 year old Bulldog, Napoleon. I'm about to start a new job in catering - hopefully, let's all cross our fingers - and when I'm not working, I'm hiking and playing in and around the river with my dog. Normally, I also love to travel, but with such a beautiful environment, it's hard to want to leave.

I don't necessarily believe that there is life out there, though I realize what an arrogant thought that is, but I hope against hope that if there is, I'll be around to see it. I always said if the situation arose where I had a chance to leave with extraterrestrials, to really find out once and for all, I would do it without hesitation. And I would. In a heartbeat. But only if I can take Napoleon.

In the meantime, I'll just watch the beautiful sky shows.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I found this quite by accident while searching for a particular screensaver, and what fun! I am finding my truly avid interest in Physics/Astronomy quite late in life (thanks in large part to Neil deGrasse Tyson - love that man!), and I am continually both ecstatic about and depressed by the astonishing discoveries we are making, daily it seems. So sad that I won't get to see the Milky Way collide with Andromeda! Unfortunate that I won't get to travel down a super massive black hole JUST TO SEE! So, since my computer sits idle a lot while awaiting downloads, and I'm sitting mesmerized in front of the Science Channel, Discovery Channel, et al., this is a perfect idea - I can help and possibly be part of something truly amazing. If not - oh well, what the hell, what fun anyway!
