| Your personal background. |
I'm a nineteen-year-old student living in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia.
There's nothing of interest to tell about this part of Germany,
so you better don't ask. ;-)
I just started recently with BOINC because I stumbled across some German team website
by accident. Actually I was looking for something completely different. Anyways, I liked
what I saw and thus decided to participate because my PC is running most of the day
downloading useless stuff wasting precious energy for virtually nothing.
So taking part in DC projects is my attempt to add some sense of purpose
to this habit of mine...
By the way:
Rechenkraft.net, the team I joined soon after I started with BOINC, has established
a non-profit incorporated association dedicated to supporting and spreading distributed
computing in the german-speaking parts and beyond.
Everyone is free to join... ;-) |
| Your opinions about Einstein@Home |
From early childhood on I developed a strong interest in space and astronomy and stuck to this ever since.
Therefore, Einstein@home seemed to me a good opportunity to contribute something to space sciences
(I'm participating in SETI@home for the same reason).
