Profile: David R. Voth

Your personal background.
I live in San Diego, California and work as a Systems Administrator for a company that aggregates and sells data for the real estate industry.

I am an alumnus of UC San Diego - Revelle College, Psychology, BA, 1980. I've lived, worked, or attended school in the area for most of the time since 1966.

I will turn 50 years old in February 2008. I've been working with computer systems professionally since 1983. My hobbies include gardening, machine work, and collecting and restoring curio and relic firearms.

For now, I am running the client on a VMware virtual server runing Windows 2000 Server SP4. It gets about half of the available CPU cycles on the host. If it doesn't cause any problems for everything else I use the machine for, I will consider putting it on the host OS (Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition, SP2) which should at least double my calculation rate.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I'm just getting started. It seems like a worthwhile use of my idle computer time.
