| Your personal background. |
I am an Emergency Planner working at the Peninsula Health District in the Tidewater region of Virginia, where I was left on the beach after Uncle Sam let me out of the submarine force.
The current work is really quite interesting, and I am glad that the trend in public health planning is moving to an all hazards approach....
The recent reading list has included; The Deed of Paksennarion by Elizabeth Moon, the Aubry series by Patrick O'Brien and The Known World by Edward Jones....
I really dig the West Wing and CSI....
I play the PC version of Halo and Homeworld when not doing other work...
I like dark beers and wear a kilt now and again... |
| Your opinions about Einstein@Home |
Einstein is one of several projects in which I have participated. Seti@Home was the first, but I really felt like I wanted a little more of a tangible effort. I have participated in genotyping biological weapons agents, climate prediction and now the physics project.
The project really calls out to me... research into physics has such wide ranging effect. The only other thing would be health physics projects that are little more interesting to me since I have spent my occupational life in healthcare, and as a submariner, a great deal of radiation protection efforts.
At work and at home I use dual monitor setups... It would be great if the program were able to display on both, or display the graphics on one and calculations on the other... |
