Your personal background.
I've loved science since I was in third grade, way back in August, 1956. My first science interest was astronomy; Mars was coming close to earth that year. I later went to the University of Pittsburgh and majored in chemistry in the late 60's. In 1990, I became a certified chemistry teacher. I taught as a home visiting teacher in Frederick, Maryland in the 1990s; I went to the homes of students who couldn't attend school (illnesses, accidents, etc.) and taught them in their homes. I currently work at a major Pittsburgh PA university, assisting students in their studies, and doing some database work and statistical reporting for my department.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
1. I run Einstein@home for the pure joy of contributing toward this wonderful research and scientific knowledge.

2. Einstein@home is a significant attempt to contribute toward man's understanding and scientific knowledge in general. Discoveries from this project may lead to other discoveries, and perhaps even develop practical technology. Even Einstein's theories may eventually be superseded in the future with the discovery of new knowledge and much broader concepts such as "string theory."

3. Suggestions: I partition my drive into smaller drives. It looks like Einstein@home didn't allocate nearly as much space for the project as it could possibly have. Therefore, it would help if the project's software would allow us to span multiple partitions or select specific drive areas that we know will give the progect greater capacity than the area of the drive that it typically selects when we install it.
