Profile: Manuel Palacios

Your personal background.
Hi there!
My name is Manuel Palacios.

I was born in 1963.

I got my first computer when I was 18.

I got hooked up with software development then.

That's what I've doing ever since: formal software verification, device drivers, legacy client/server, e-commerce, n-tier client/server, you name it!

I've used quite an array of technologies, programming languages, and analysis/design/programming paradigms as they've been evolving through the years.

In my current job, I do mostly metadata processing. Kind of cool, or at least so I think.

When I am not wearing my geek hat, I like to read, mostly about physics. That's how I got to know about Einstein@Home.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
Gravity is the force we are most familiar with, yet remains the most elusive to pin down.

Although its classical formulation by Newton and Einstein is elegant indeed, attempts to obtain a comprehensive quantum formulation have failed.

I hope that the Einstein@Home project will provide some insight into this area, and that is why I run it.
