Profile: Oliver

Your personal background.
I`m German. I was born in 1960 in Stuttgart, where Porsche and Mercedes come from.
Since then I experienced life and the world quite a bit. Now I have two kids, a wife and spend my time with them, books and computers.
My first computer was a "Commodore VC20" with basic BASIC, no diskdrive, not even a tape. It was connected to the TV so I did not really spend much time with it. Worst thing was to write the whole software for anything when starting this thing because, as I mentioned, no drive, no tape. Not even Memory - 20k only!!!
Well, things improved since.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
It`s a great idea. You learn that the search for "Life out there" (SETI@HOME)was useful and still is. And if its only inventing "distributed computing". I believe this will influence science a lot in future.
