| Tom Kennedy : running Suse Linux 9.1 Age 58, semi-retired, science and astronomy nut, used to do a lot of "C" code, slowly getting back into it for fun. Used to be a system administrator for many large unix based systems, etc. Wanted to be an astronalt, but there aren't many opportunities left. One of the kids might get the chance to fly one day. This project gives me an opportunity to contribute something to an ongoing project that has merit, and may produce some good science. I'm not particularly interested in credit for helping, I just want the effort to be worth the time and ergs expended on my system. It would be nice to get a linux load that would actually run at the speeds the system is capable of doing. Windows is junk by comparison. Yes, I also have XP on the same box in a dual boot config. 99% of the time I'm running linux however. |
