| Your personal background. |
| Hello all. My name is Josh and I was born 12/23/81. I'm currently a student at the University of Hawaii at Hilo majoring in astronomy. After I get my bachelors, I'll move onto grad school (probably somewhere back in my home state of CA) and hopefully after that I can go work for SETI which is located (or perhaps based is a better word) only about an hours drive away from my home town. If I can't work for them, I'd like to go into the field of cosmology (not cosmETology for you outsiders), although doing what specifically I don't know. But then again, high energy particle physics is pretty cool too...so we'll see. To be continued. |
| Your opinions about Einstein@Home |
Why do I run Einstein@Home? Well, there are waves for for the other three fundamental forces, so why not gravity as well? Also, if and when gravity waves are detected, this will be BIG news in the scientific community. With the detection of gravity waves will come a plethora of answers to one of the least understood things in our universe. But with answers, more questions always will come as well, but we'll at least be another step in the right direction.
As for my views on the project? It's certainly a worthwhile endeavor and this is most definitely a really cool part of many more projects (in the search for gravity waves) to come. Einstein was correct in so many other predictions, why not this one? |
