Profile: Terry Welch

Your personal background.
I am Terry Welch of Johnson City, Tennessee, USA. Hobbies include ham radio (K4IQT), computer racing simulations (GPL, LFS, F1C, GTR, RBR), helping my wife with local and overseas medical missions, enjoying having no teenagers in the house at last, and continually working to stay physically and mentally ahead of the pack!
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
Working for Sprint as a 60 year old telecommuting engineer, my several home computers are available most of the time during the day for Einstein@home.

This use of a vast number of PC's via the Internet is probably the most cost-effective and least bureaucratic means of accomplishing the analysis of huge amounts of data. You already may be doing this, but if you could work with large corporations as well to guarantee network security and still facilitate their use of Einstein@home as a corporate standard screensaver, I'm sure you could make tremendous headway since even today most desktop PC commercial users leave the machines on 7x24.
