Your personal background.
I have been interested in Gravity Waves since high school. I recall an article in "The Griffith Observer" circa 1972 describing gravity waves and how we might dtect them. It was quite different than what it finally being used. I wrote a test term paper on the subject and enjoyed the astrophysical mental exercise about them ever since. Being able to actually search for them this way is neat way to actually do some real science after 33 years learning about them in the classroom. My high scholl really promoted Astronomy and had an observatory. It was only 2 blocks from my house so it was like it was my own. The archival picture I attached in from that time.
