Profile: Alex Hale

Your personal background.
:Hello, I am a High school student in Florida I hope to visit the universiy in Berkeley, (BOINC FOUNDERS) as well as some radio telescope facilities to ask some geeky questions. Protein folding and such should not be left to the government alone. An unfamiliar yet very signifigant name of "Enrico Fermi" discovered that by bombarding neutrons into heavy elements such as Uranium, radioactivity can be found, which led to the production of the atomic bomb back in the WW2 days. Fermi had no government regulated deadline or expectaions to meet, just a private participant of a university experiment. This revolutionary concept of "unregulated experimentation" has sped up the process of technology and achievement over many aspects of our society. The privatly funded "SPACE SHIP ONE" is an experimental space craft which can carry up to 3 passengers into orbit, all privatly funded, surpassing NASA's slow civilian-based space travel. So programs such as PREDICTOR@home, SETI@home and much more will have pronounced benefits in the future. 7 Computers drain 750 watts of electricity total in my household to fold some teins and search for aliens, a well though investment at 8 cents/KWH. :) 15 male, and science is my thing.
