| A child of the 60's, born at the end of the 'baby boom' I am a line service supervisor for an FBO. Spent 16 years in the U.S. Army before they kicked me out, (bad back). Am a child DOS, and at times wish DOS was still prominent. I do a little bit of MODding. My current project is a twist on the case window. My main system is spread out "under" my desk. No desktop space, and got tired of kicking when it was on the floor, so, I disassembled it and bolted it to the underside of my desk. Works wonders. I have the optical drives and power/reset on the edge, but everything else is far enough back that I don't kick it anymore. My second MOD is Eagle-1 (tried to use the BBCodes to make a link, but it doesn't work) which is also a web server. Stop by (eagle-1.homeip.net) and see what a computer with stained glass windows looks like. | |

| 1. An old ( not real old in age, but someone from my past) Army friend asked if I would like to do it. Since I have one of three machines on all the time I said I would. I was running the 'old' SETI@home, but didn't update to the BOINC version. I figure I would run only one. 2. Hey, distributed computing is a good thing. If the computer is basically sitting idle, or not doing much of anything else, why not share. Especially if it doesn't cause spam or pop-ups. 3. As I mentioned in the forums; Being able to configure each computer separately. Hey, my main system, when I do bring it onto Einstein, needs to be configured differently then my secondary system that runs Einstein 24/7. | |
