| Your personal background. |
Born ('83) and grown up in Germany, I now live in the Czech Republic and work as Unix (AIX) systems administrator.
I'm living in Brno, the second biggest city in this small country of 10.5 million.
I'm strongly interested in open source and Linux in special, modern history, reading, foreign and security policy. |
| Your opinions about Einstein@Home |
Basically, I love distributed computing and science fiction books. So I'm somehow predestined to crunch projects like SETI@home, Cosmology and Einstein@home. I want to help in understanding space and solve open questions.
I joined Einstein in 2005, but due to very long crunching times on my old AthlonXP, I decided to focus on other projects. When I finally upgraded to a new Quadcore CPU in 2007, this enabled me to crunch all the projects at the same time and since then I'm back. A second quad has been added since. From time to time also some old boxes join in, but the old XP is gone :-/
Currently I'm looking forward to the day Einstein will introduce a CUDA client. 2 G92 based cards stand ready for action.
