Your personal background.
I'm 26, happily married (for the majority of the time) and living in south Charlotte, North Carolina, USA (do you hear that strumming banjo too?...). I work right next to Carowinds at Leiner Health Products where I am the facility safety coordinator. I specialize in loss control mainly because over the last 3 years, we've had way too many accidents. But my trending shows that we're getting better. I really like to keep people from getting hurt on the job... Leiner is actually America's largest producer of generic vitamins, mineral supplements, and over-the-counter medications (we're also sneaking our way into the generic drug scene). I have a bachelors of science in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University (go wolfpack!!!) I met my wife there in the band (yea, this one time at band camp...). Anyway, my first computer was an Apple IIe that could run this sweet Sesame Street Game... and it's pretty much been Apple all the way since. Unfortunately at work I'm forced by "the man" to slave over a Compac Evo 510 (yuck). Hmmm, lets see, hobbies, yea, my wife and I love to mountain bike (and I can't stop playing video games). For anyone who knows a good bike, I just recently bought a Trek Fuel 90 with the disk break option. Man it is the sweetest ride ever. Ok well I suppose I could branch into my life story but I'm sure this frame has a limited character count ;-) (Oh yea, my middle name is McDowell so that's why people call me Mac, like Mark McGuire, you know... Jef Raskin said that Mcintosh was his favorite Apple but the true story is that I told him to call it "The Machinery Automated Computational Device (MAC)" after me, but we compromised with "Macintosh" instead.)
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I don't really have a clue what Einstein@Home does... But I like that idea that I'm helping geeks in a far off land impress their bosses with massive amounts of raw data crunching power. Hmmmm... I think I need to start a BOINC project. Who wants to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Can someone program a simuator??? I bet I can use this as my thesis. YES!!!
