| Hi there! I may work in the software industry, but I'm an astronomer at heart. Just like many people today, I ended up in the software industry. I'm actually a geologist and astronomer (well that's waht the degree says anyway...), but job availability and prospects pulled harder than acedemia. Luckily I live in the English countryside, and have a phenomemal view of the sky with very little light pollution - which, let's face it is pretty rare these days. The universe is as beautiful as it is varied, and I always look forward to using the telescope in my back garden. Seems to me like a natural extension to help out looking for life elsewhere (I do SETI too), and phenomena like gravity waves. This is made even easier because my other obsession is making my PC run faster and better than any other. If it's on the market, faster, better, or just cooler, then I can pretty much guarantee I run it. |
