Detecting gravitational waves has been on the physics agenda since I was a graduate student in the 1970's. Tough problem. I'd be delighted to have the first detection occur on my computer! Even if not, the task of winnowing through the data is worth helping along whenever we have spare CPU time available. Regards, - wcm
