Profile: Gary Tegner

Your personal background.
I was born in 1965 and live in Hamburg, Germany. My first computer (1983?) was a Commodore C64 (but before that I had access to some Commodore CBM 3032/4032 at school - and owned an Atari 2600 ;-). Studied computer science and currently working for a small company (service for insurance companies) as programmer and administrator (kind of "universaldilettant").
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
It's a great idea to use idle computer time for scientific calculations (the consumption of electricity when running under full load instead of being idle is another story). My team "Special Off Topic" recruited me in the depths of the discussion boards at my favourite site http://www.heise.de/newsticker/ - so I came to "Einstein at Home" (sorry, no scientific background - I'm just having fun here ;-).
