Your personal background.
I write professionally about astronomy, the physical sciences, history of science, technology, engineering, scientific expeditions, bicycling, and adventure travel (published 10 books and more than 350 articles in various popular science, travel, and general interest magazines - see web site at <a>http://home.att.net/~trudy.bell<a>). Right now, I'm writing several pieces on gravitational-wave astronomy; the photo was taken in December, 2004 when I was on assignment to LIGO-Livingston for an article scheduled for publication later this year in Air & Space magazine.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I was first quite taken by the beautiful rotating celestial-sphere screensaver. But lending my computer to E@H makes me feel as though I am making a concrete, personal contribution (even if small) to scientific research. I'm quite fascinated by how BOINC works. Personally, I would like to receive more info about the specific problems it is calculating on my machine, and some idea of its results, no matter how modest.
