Profile: Bernd Grocholski

Your personal background.
Hi, I'm a 52 years old male, living in a small village with about 750 inhabitants, south of Kiel (well known as the name-giving town of the Kiel-Canal) in Northern Germany. I'm working at the Statistical Office for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Actually I'm responsible for statistics on industry, construction and business notifications for both Länder. As a compensation for my desk-job, I'm having some sport-activities: playing handball, running and gymnastics weekly.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
I run this project because of a general interest in physics and unsolved questions in basic physics. In 2006 I visited the CERN-plant in Switzerland with a view on "microscopic" topics and had an impress of preparing new experiments in search of hidden objects. I joined the "macroscopic" Einstein-project accidentially by reading something about the Year of Physics in 2005 with a link on einstein@home. At home, my computer and notebook are not really occupied full-time. So there's enough they can do for Einstein. I hope, this project will successfully reach it's goals by the help of a worldwide BOINC-community!
